What inspired you to write Bloodstarved?

That is a hard question, but also an easy one. I’ve read so many fantasy novels filled with dragons, magic, and worlds that had to be built from the ground up. I love those stories, but I wanted to bring the magic closer to home. With Bloodstarved, I wanted to mix fantasy with real-life places and familiar settings, creating a world where magic could exist right beside us.

Has anyone ever told you your book should be a movie?

Yes! With all the different characters, points of view, dragons, magic, and action, I can definitely see why readers say that. Lily Ironblade is my main character, but I try to give all of my characters a chance to shine, including Rook, Archer, Nikki, Lucas, and of course, the dragons - Eclipse, Vortex, and Onyx.

Do you use anyone you know as inspiration for your characters’ personalities?

That is a secret…. Some characters may have little pieces of real emotions, real conversations, or real experiences mixed into them, but their personalities belong fully to the world of Bloodstarved.
